Working Party, November 2024

The Rangers had identified a buddleia bush for removal which is an invasive plant, not native to the UK. Half of the team headed to the eastern end of the park and was able to cut the bush back, although the root system (pictured below) requires special equipment due to its size. The same team was also able to remove some more dogwood from the  bug hotel area (pictured above).

The other half of the team carried out a litter pick throughout the park. As the leaves are now falling the base of the bushes reveal all the litter discarded throughout the summer months (sadly). The group plays an important role in keeping Beggarwood Park clean. Our efforts have been recognised by Green Flag Awards since 2023.

After completing the work we headed off to the Holly Blue for the usual coffees and cakes.
