In a bid to develop the flora and community relations within Beggarwood, a community project to position two large flower boxes at the cafe in the park was formed.
This project included the Beggarwood Wildlife Group, Stratton Park Men’s Shed and Hatch Warren Community Centre.
Men’s Shed kindly agreed to build these boxes and did so brilliantly by using disused pallets. This meant all materials were free and followed the projects wish to be environmentally friendly.
The Hatch Warren Community Centre generously agreed to provide a budget to purchase flowers and soil. Some flowers were also donated by Beggarwood residents.
The Beggarwood Wildlife Group orchestrated the project and planted the flowers and will monitor and maintain the flower boxes to ensure they remain a vibrant entrance to Beggarwood Park.
