We are a group of locals who love people and nature, and have a little free time to make a difference. There is plenty of research and experience that demonstrates the benefits of spending time in nature and working alongside others. So, coming together to maintain our local Nature Reserve is a win-win.
We are members of Natural Basingstoke which supports and represents the many local community nature conservation groups in the borough.
Our Tasks
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have overall responsibility for the Nature Reserve and perform regular surveys of the park to establish a maintenance program.
Tasks are then allocated to:
- Council Wardens and Ground Maintenance Staff
- Beggarwood Wildlife Group
- Council run Corporate group days
